WHY GOLD
Gold is the one that works with every other colour on the table, which is why it is the usual choice when the place settings are already decided. It sits as easily on a traditional red and green table as on a white or cream one.
WHY MAKE YOUR OWN
Shop crackers come with plastic tat nobody keeps. Filling your own means a gift each person actually wants, at less cost per head.
